Promoting Self-Actualization, TSA Female Hosts 2024 LUDIFEST

Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) is committed to support students' self-actualization through various programs, including event hosting. Recently, Thursina IIBS, in collaboration with the female campus' Thursina Student Association (TSA), hosted the 2024 LUDIFEST. This festival celebrates creativity and passion among students from various schools, bringing together 140 participants from 35 elementary and middle schools. The theme for this year's event was "Nature's Symphony: A Poem Celebrating the Beauty and Harmony of Nature," chosen to align with Thursina IIBS's RECODING values: Religious, Open-Minded, and Inspiring.

According to Ustadz Hendika Wicaksana, S.Pd, advisor of the female campus’ TSA and a social studies teacher at Thursina IIBS, the name LUDIFEST is derived from the English word ‘ludic’ which conveys a sense of joy, playfulness, and enthusiasm. "We hope that LUDIFEST 2024 can create a fun atmosphere and motivate all participants to show their enthusiasm and creativity," said Ustadz Hendika.

Preparation for the event was long and meticulous, involving several stages leading up to D-day. The committee began by releasing promotional materials on social media to reach a wide audience. In addition, they decorated the venue, put-together necessary documents for the event, as well as conducting rehearsals for the opening and closing ceremonies. One of the main challenges was ensuring the event ran smoothly as planned. The committee successfully overcame these challenges through careful planning and ongoing coordination. “We have to ensure that no detail is overlooked and that all parties are enjoying the event," added Ustadz Hendika.

Good communication became an essential key to making sure that the committee is always one step ahead of any obstacles that could run the event off the course. It is also worth noting that this event couldn’t have been successful without the support of its partners including Sari Roti, Sonokembang Catering, as well as all the tenants that participated in the food and book bazaar. “We are so grateful to all partners that have given us their support. Without them, this event wouldn’t have been as successful as it was,” uttered Ustadz Handika.

Winners of the 2024 LUDIFEST received awards consisting of certificates, trophies, and varying amounts of training funds, depending on their winning category. These awards were meant to motivate participants and appreciate their hard work and creativity.

"Our hope for this event is that it can give students the opportunity to practice their organizational skills, as well as nurturing a sense of compassion, awareness, and open-mindedness. We expect the committee to learn from the dynamics that occurred during the preparation stage and the D-day. Meanwhile, for the participants, we hope that they can all be religious, competitive, creative, and open-minded individuals,” added Ustadz Hendika.

Following the success of the 2024 LUDIFEST, Thursina IIBS plans to develop the event to an even larger scale in the future. The success of the festival not only celebrates the accomplishments of the participants but also establishes new standards for upcoming educational events and competitions.

“We hope that LUDIFEST can be one of the iconic events that strengthen Thursina IIBS’ reputation while also giving a positive impact to all parties involved,” Ustadz Hendika concluded.
